All-Time High Jump Programs

We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1995, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer.  While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.

We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time, and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.

Today we are going to take a look at the boy's high jump. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of 103 teams visit the link below.

Kennebunk High School is the top-ranked high jump program with Pierce Jackson's 6-6 effort leading the way. Behind him, Austin Weigle jumped 6-5, while recent graduate Andrew Ladd cleared 6-4. The Rams had all seven ranked athletes clear 6-2 or better and averaged 6-4 1/4.

The Dragons of Brunswick is the second-best team with Byron Watson's 6-6 clearance. 2020 graduate Samuel Cenescar is second best for Brunswick with his 6-5 1/2 personal best. The Dragons averaged 6-3 for their scoring five.

Scarborough High School is the third-ranked program behind 2019 graduate Anthony Clavette's 6-6 school record. Sam Rusak ranks second for the Red Storm with his 6-4 personal best. Scarborough averaged 6-2 1/2 for their scoring five.

The Lions of Belfast is the fourth-ranked team with a pair of 6-4 jumpers leading the way. Levi Lapham and Jim Gould are tied for the top spot for the Lions. Belfast averaged 6-2 3/4 for their scoring five.

Rounding out the top five programs is South Portland. Ruay Bol paces the Red Riots with a 6-3 personal best. The Red Riots averaged 6-2 per jumper.
