All-Time Maine Boys Racewalk Programs

Mitchell St. Peter continued Caribou strong tradition in the race walk winning the 2015 Class B racewalk title. The Vikings are the top-ranked program since 1995.

All-Time Racewalk Programs

We've been working to expand our vast results database this summer adding in several state championship meets dating back to 1995, and the plan is to continue throughout the summer.  While we don't have every team's top athletes of all-time we wanted to take a look at the data we had to see what programs (schools) had the top performers in every track and field event outdoors.

We scored each team just like a cross-country meet, giving 1 point for the fastest time, and so on. A program's score is based on the top five performers in the event with the top 7 athletes acting as displacers.

Today we are going to take a look at the boy's racewalk. Below are the top five programs based on the results we currently have in the database. For the complete list of the 69 teams visit the link below.

Caribou ranks as the top racewalk program with Dan Campbell and Dan Pendergast leading the way. Campbell is the top walker for the Vikings with a 6:45.19 personal best while Pendergast walked 6:47.46. Caribou has seven athletes walk 7:11.11 or faster, the top five walkers averaged 6:58.15.

The Red Eddies of Edward Little are next with Keith Tremblay's 6:41.32 personal best effort. Spencer Dunn is second for EL with a best time of 6:49.47. Edward Little averaged 7:00.12 for their top five.

Lisbon High School ranks third among the top racewalk programs. Troy Clark has the fastest time of 6:37.17 for the Greyhounds. They have six athletes at 7:11.33, with a 7:02.41 average for the top five.

The Mustangs of Massabesic are the fourth-ranked program. Levi Johnson is the top walker for Massabesic with his personal best 6:57.60. They averaged 7:08.86 for their top five.

South Portland rounds out the top five programs. Steven Smith leads the way with his 6:42.09 best effort. The Red Riots averaged 7:06.96 with five athletes at 7:15.61 or faster.
