How has COVID-19 affected you?

Due to COVID, our team lost an outdoor track season, which I was bummed out about since I really enjoy outdoor track. It also prevented me and my team from practicing together over the summer.

What has your summer training consisted of? How much mileage are you putting in?

My summer training has consisted of mainly regular and long runs. During this season I've been getting a bit more mileage than I have in last seasons.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

My goals for this season are to try and get another state title and maybe get a new PR along the way.

What is your favorite workout that makes you feel most prepared for success?

My favorite workouts are the hill workouts we do. Many of the courses that we run have lots of hills and I think those workouts help prepare us a lot.

What did you learn from the last xc season that will help you improve in 2020?

Last season I learned that at the beginning of a race I should get out fast. I wouldn't put as much effort going out in some races and that would make me get stuck behind.

How is your team looking for the fall?

I think our team is looking really good for this fall. We have a good amount of upcoming freshmen, which I think is good for our team.

The top three little things I do to prevent injury is a good stretch after running, rolling, and doing cool down runs on workout days.

What is the one thing you have done during COVID-19 that you have never had time for in the past?

One thing I did during COVID was going on all of the hikes I've wanted to do. I haven't had much time to explore trails near me so it was the perfect quarantine activity.

What's the farthest you've ever run at one time?

The farthest I have ever run was about 11 miles.

If every day were a holiday, what would yours be?

If every day was a holiday I would pick Halloween. I think dressing up in costumes with friends and eating candy is the best.

Favorite subject in school?

My favorite subject in school is science. I especially enjoy biology.

If you could go on a run with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why?

If I could go on a run with anyone, I would probably go with my teammates. Even though I run with them all the time, I really enjoy running with them and hanging out.
