XC State Meet Moved to Saxl Park

The Maine Principal's Association announced Tuesday the state cross-country championship would be held at Saxl Park in Bangor. The need to move the meet from Belfast became necessary after Waldo County was designated as a "Yellow" county due to a COVID-19 outbreak.

The meet will still take place on November 11th for the boys and the 14th for the girls. See the MPA Release for more details. As a result of the Saxl Park being unknown for many teams, Maine MileSplit will travel up to the PVC Class B & C meets this weekend, and get a course preview.

From the MPA Press Release
Due to Waldo County currently being in "yellow" and the uncertainty of high school athletics in that county, the 2020 State Cross Country Championships have been moved to Saxl Park in Bangor. The schedule will remain the same with Boys on Wednesday, November 11, and Girls on Saturday, November 14. Class C will run at 9:30, Class A at 12:00, and Class B at 2:30. The Cross Country Committee selected Saxl Park with a desire to keep this year's championship at a "northern" site.
