There were different league championship meets for the KVAC taking place on Friday and Saturday.

Large School Champions  - Edward Little Girls & Boys      RESULTS

The Edward Little Boys tallied 214 points to dominate the team competition. Senior Jacob Jackson won two individual events as he leaped 43-6 1/4 to take the triple jump and cleared 6 feet to win the high jump, he added eight more points with a runner-up finish to pace the Red Eddies.

Sophomore Tudum Monday won both hurdle races as he clocked 16.10 in the 110s and a personal best of 42.27 in the 300-meter hurdles.

Senior Finn Thistle cleared a state-leading 13 feet to take the pole vault while Simon Hall added ten points with an 8:19.21 win in the 1600m racewalk. John Tshmala added a win in the 400m (54.10) for Edward Little.

Oxford Hills Nickolas Plamondon swept the short sprints taking the 100m (11.47) and the 200m (23.20). His teammate Brodi Rice added a pair of victories in the throws, winning the shot put (42-2 1/2) and the discus (132-0). Atticus Soehren won the javelin with a Class A leading 173-1 as Oxford Hills went 1-2-3 in the event.

Messalonskee Dylan Flewelling won the 1600m (4:48.84) and 3200m (10:28.74). Jabreel Muhammad-Aceto won the long jump with a strong 21-8 effort.

The Edward Little girls scored 233 to win the league title. Makenna Drouin paced the Red Eddies with forty points as she won both hurdle races, taking the 100 hurdles (17.14), and 300 hurdles (46.85). She added wins in the 100m (13.24) and 200m (26.69). Her 300m hurdles time is a Class A state leading performance.

Distance runner Payton Bell was a double winner as she won the 1600m (5:34.52) and 800m (2:30.08). Kasey Smith won the 1600m racewalk (9:25.69) while Katherine Garcia took the 3200m (12:40.44) for Edward Little. Faith Small was another winner for EL with a 104-4 toss in the javelin along with Saphryn Humason-Fulgham in the long jump (16-1 1/2).

Megan Bickford of Oxford Hills won a pair of events as she took the shot put (34-1 1/4) and the discus (102-11).

Medium/Large Champions: Cony Girls & Mt Ararat Boys    RESULTS | VIDEOS

The Mt. Ararat boys took the team title with 191 points to win by thirty-five points over Brunswick. 

The 4x800 relay set the tone for the Eagles as they crossed the line first in 8:39.10. They continued their relay success taking the 4x100 in 45.99.

The Eagles excelled in the jumps as they totaled 71 points between the long, triple, and high jump. Bane Slocum was a double winner as he leaped 20-11 to take the long jump and 40-9 in the triple.

Brunswick senior Tyler Patterson completed the tough distance triple winning the 1600m (4:30.22), 800m (2:02.36), and 3200m (9:25.74). The 3200m effort was a state-leading time.



Isaac Dostie of Gardiner was a double winner in the hurdles, winning the 110s (16.25) and 300s (43.49). While Brunswick junior Matthew Poulton won the 100m (11.23) and 200m (23.10). Lawrence's Gage Boudreau won the shot put (41-9 1/2) and discus (112-5) was the other double winner.

On the girl's side, Class B Cony turned back Brunswick by 19 points. The Rams were led by Anna Reny who won the 100m hurdles in 16.08, 300m hurdles (47.13), and the 200m (27.06). Sister Julia Reny added a win in the javelin with a toss of 110-5.

Grace Kirk added a win in the 1600m (5:26.33) and a runner-up finish in the 800m for the Rams. She added a leg on the winning 4x800m relay to start the meet. Kristen Kirk won the high jump with a 5-0 clearance for the Rams.

Annie Vannoy of Medomak Valley competed a tough double winning the 400m in 61.72 and then scored an upset in the 800m as closed strong for the win in a personal best of 2:23.85.

Mikaela Langston of Mt. Ararat won the triple jump with a leap of 36-6 1/2.

Leavitt tallied 269 points to run away with the team title. Blaine Clark scored a pair of victories in the 110m hurdles (18.30) and 300m hurdles (45.29).

The Hornets swept the throwing events as Tom Casey took the shot put 47-0 1/2, Jack Boutaugh won the discus with a 126-9 effort, and Robert Oliver threw 159-10 to win the javelin.

Ben Harris added a victory in the 1600m racewalk with an 8:27.42 for Leavitt while Ethan Weston cleared 10-6 for ten points in the pole vault. Zackary Morrison won the triple jump with a 38-7 1/2 effort.

The Leavitt girls scored 195 to win the team title. Margo Kenyon paced the Hornets as she won the 1600m (5:33.65), 800m (2:32.56), and the 3200m (12:43.110. The other winner for Leavitt was Molly Sirois in the 1600m racewalk (8:35.02).

Courtney Wheaton of Nokomis won the shot put (31-6) and discus (107-3) while Riley Reitchel of Erskine Academy won the 100m (13.71), added another in the 400m (64.79), and a third victory in the javelin with a toss of 103-0.

Nadia Panetski of Morse was a double winner taking the 200m (27.94) and the 300m hurdles (53.61). Erica Johnson of Lincoln Academy won two events taking the 100m hurdles (17.19) and triple jump (32-0).

Small School Champions: Winslow Girls & Belfast Boys         RESULTS

The Belfast boys won the team title with 238 points to win by over a hundred points. 

Cole Martin posted a pair of wins for the Lions in the short sprints taking the 100m (11.08) and the 200m (23.12), he added a leg on the winning the 4x100m relay too.  Rico Washington added two victories in the 110m hurdles (16.78) and 300m hurdles (45.96).

Andrew Abelon won the long jump with a Class B leading 22-0 1/2 effort for the Lions.

Jonah Lovejoy added a win in the 800m (2:14.92) while Westley Dyer took the 3200m (11:18.14) and Nicholas Ritchie won the pole vault with a 12-foot clearance for Belfast.

Gavyn Towers of Oceanside won the shot put (41-4 1/4) and discus (123-3).

The Winslow girls won the team title by 15 points over Belfast. Senior standout Carly Warn won four individual events to pace the Black Raiders. Warn won the 100m (12.53) and the 200m (26.32), along with 16-11 1/4 in the long jump and 36-0 1/2 in the triple jump.

Olivia Tiner added a victory in the 400m (62.31) and the Black Raiders won the 4x400 and 4x800m relays.

Belfast junior Lia Frazee was a double winner as she cleared 5-4 to win the high jump and a personal best 10-8 effort in the pole vault.
