Mark McCauley breaks state record at 800m 1:53.4

Running on his home track, senior Mark McCauley (Greely) broke the all-time state best for 800m, clocking an impressive 1:53.4. The former record was held by Mt. View's Joe Moody (1:53.8) set way back in 1995 at the Class B state meet. McCauley ran a slight negative split hitting the 400m in 57, before pulling away from Henry Sterling in the 3rd-200 which he ran in 26.8. Mark passed 600m in around 1:23.8, and hung on in the last 200m clocking 56.4 for the last lap of the oval.
