The Maine jumps scene is loaded with talent this season. From athletes dominating a single event to others putting up numbers across two or even all three jumps, this group represents some of the best the sport and state have to offer.
Here's a look at the top boys jumpers to know right now.
Top Returning Jumpers:
Thomas Leblanc (Edward Little): The junior jumped 12-6 last spring but made a huge jump indoors, clearing 15-7 1/2 to move to the fifth-best mark in state history. Leblanc won the Class A title indoors and will look to clear the 16-foot barrier during the outdoor season.
Ethan Walsh (Fort Fairfield): The defending Class C champion Walsh cleared a best of 6-7 a year ago; he leads all returners statewide in the event this spring. Walsh placed fifth in the New England Championship in 2025.
Conner Donahue (Foxcroft Academy): Donahue won the Class C long jump title last spring. He had a best of 21-10 to lead all returners statewide. During the indoor season, he was the Class B runner-up.
Fernando Kele (Lewiston HS): A year ago, Kele was third in the Class A state meet, jumping a best of 43-6 3/4 in 2025. Indoors, he improved to 46-6 and was the runner-up at the state meet. He is a talented long jumper as well, with a personal best of 21-6 3/4.
Nsungui Mankatu (Lewiston HS): Mankatu had a huge indoor season, leaping out to 46-9 3/4 to win the Class A state meet indoors this winter. The winning mark was the fourth-best jump in Maine history. Last year, during the outdoor season, he had a best of 42-5 3/4, finishing fifth at the state meet. Mankatu is also a strong long jumper with a personal best of 21-0 1/2.
Bryce Holden (Mt. Ararat HS): Holden is one of the top pole vaulters in the state. He jumped 15-0 indoors this winter and cleared 14-6 last spring. He is also one of the top long jumpers. He was the Class A state champion indoors with a leap of 22-0 1/2.
Elijah Pelkey (Erskine Academy): Pelkey is the defending Class B triple jump champion; he won the indoor title as well this past winter. He jumped a best of 43-1 1/4 during the indoor season, which improved on his 40-10 best from 2025.
