The 2026 Maine Outdoor Track and Field season is upon us, and teams from around the state will be chasing the state title in June. We wanted to preview the top returning teams based on 2025 results, as well as considering performances from the indoor season, as we get ready for the first meets of the outdoor season.
Teams to Watch Class C Boys
Bangor Christian: The Patriots return the most points of any team in Class C and enter the season as the favorites. Jesse Booker will be counted on; he is the second fastest returner in both the 110HH and 300 hurdles, and can score in the javelin as well. Samuel Whitcomb is another scoring threat for Bangor Christian. He is a strong 110 hurdler and pole vaulter, ranking third best in both events. The throwing events are strengths as well. Ian McClung is ranked second in discus and is strong in the shot put. Look for Marshall Sibley, Wyatt Young, Kyle Stanley, and Thomas Curtis to be scoring threats in the throws, too.
Winthrop: Junior Alfie Cognata leads the Ramblers; he has the fastest returning times in the 400m and 800m, and the second fastest in the 1600m. Jacob Feith has the top returning javelin throw, while Ben Porter is a threat in the 100/200m races.
Winslow: The Black Raiders will depend heavily on senior Hassan Hobbi, who has the fastest returning times in the 100m and both hurdle events, 110HH/300H. Hobbi won both hurdle events at states last spring. Lucas Spencer is a threat in the javelin after a runner-up finish in 2025.
Lisbon/Oak Hill: Jacob Robertson leads the way; he has the fastest returning 200m, and he is a strong triple jumper as well. In the high jump, Maleek Beaumier has the second-highest returning jump; he finished fourth at states in 2025. Ryan Hanlon is also one of the best racewalkers.
Dexter: Brady Jerome leads the Tigers; he has the top returning discus throw and the second-furthest shot put. Damiair Miller has the top triple jump among the returners and could score in the long jump, too.
Other Teams to Keep an Eye On: Orono, Fort Fairfield, Foxcroft Academy
