This Week's Nominees:
Seneca Haney, Mt. Desert Island High School (Maine): Won both sprints at MDI Meet #2, clocking a state-leading 25.51 in the 200 meters against a field of 15. Also took the 100 in 12.21, winning by a comfortable margin over 30 competitors.
Hadley Oliver, John Bapst Memorial High School (Maine): Put up 37-1.5 to win the shot put at the 11th Annual Husky Throwdown, defeating state-ranked Ava Goulette in the process. Followed that with a runner-up finish in the discus at 112-8 in a competitive field of over 100 throwers.
Laurel Driscoll, Scarborough High School (Maine): Ran 5:09.96 to capture the 1600 meters at the HS-FALMOUTH-GORHAM-SCARBOROUGH@MASSABESIC meet, pulling away from a field of 13 runners.
Ava Goulette, Piscataquis Community High School (Maine): Threw 114-5 to win the discus at the 11th Annual Husky Throwdown, edging out John Bapst's Hadley Oliver in a tight competition among over 100 throwers. Also competed in the shot put, placing first with a mark of 34-5.75 at the Hampden Meet #1.
Paige Alexander, Cheverus/Waynflete (Maine): Clocked 11:14.03 to win the 3200 meters at SMAA: KENNEBUNK-CHEVERUS-SO. PORTLAND @MARSHWOOD, establishing herself as the top junior in the state in the event.
