Jack Terwilliger (Cheverus) MaineTrackXC Boys Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year
MaineTrackXC has selected Cheverus & Dartmouth bound senior Jack Terwilliger as the boys outdoor track & field athlete of the year. Terwilliger ran undefeated all year in Maine where he clocked the fastest times in the state at 800m (1:57.18), 1600m (4:17.04) & Mile (4:14.88). Jack completed the distance "triple" at the Class A state meet, winning the 800m, 1600m & 3200m races. Terwilliger ended his season at the Maine Distance Gala, running a personal best 4:14.88 for the Mile. The ease with which Jack dominated his competition this spring was something to watch, he was never in any real danger of losing a race, he often had to set the pace and chase fast times by himself. Maybe the most impressive part about Jack's success is the low mileage training program he had to follow which allowed him to stay healthy.(Photo by Pam Swan)
