Erzsebet Nagy (Lawrence) has made quite an impact in her first two XC meets of her career. Nagy won the opening season Laliberte Invitational, and followed that up last week with a dominating, course record breaking performance @ Mt. Blue. Nagy covered the diffcult 5k course in 20:21 to take the course record by 1:20 formerly held by Mt. Blue standout Melody Lam, who now runs for UMASS. For her excellent performance she has been voted the MaineTrackXC "Performance of the Week" winner for girls
Harlow Ladd (Messalonskee) ended last season with an i njury at the state meet, he's using that disappointing in 2011 to his advantage. Like Nagy, Ladd took the opening season Laliberte Invitational in dominating fashion, he followed that win up with a near course record-breaking run @ Mt. Blue. Ladd ran a personal best 17:20 on the Mt. Blue course, he previous best on the course was 17:21 from a year ago. His 17:20 clocking was just off the 17:17 course record held by former Mt. Blue star Kelton Cullenberg, who know runs for the University of Maine. For his outstanding run he has been selected in a close vote as the MaineTrackXC "Performance of the Week" winner for boys.
