Hello Everyone!

So we can all now agree that Summer 2011 is just a memory. I have now been in school for two weeks, and also have had two meets. Last week we had our first real season race at our home course. It went extremely well, our team swept the field finishing 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. Maddy who is normally our 5th runner was away for the weekend, but we still had a perfect score! My weekend wasn’t as relaxing as I would have wished. I had the ACT’s Saturday, and then picked up a shift at my work on Sunday. It has been a extremely busy start to Fall, but I honestly don’t mind it. In the past I sometimes didn’t think positively about everything with running, and also in general. I have learned that the best way to live is to always have something to look forward to. It can be each hour, day, week, month or even further away, but if you are always looking forward to something you keep yourself thinking positive.

I have so much to look forward to right now, and that’s why I don’t mind being busy. This week went very fast, and we had our 2nd meet of the season at Noble. It was a nice long trip to Berwick. The course was flat, but it was over 3.5 miles so the times were rather slow. We still managed to have a perfect score and fished 1st through 5th again! We are all looking strong, and did two good workouts in last week. On Monday we had a challenging 6x800 workout at Baxter park (with hills), and a tempo run later in the week. Right now the meets are more like hard practice runs for all of us, and we are still getting ready for the bigger meets. We will be attending the Eastern States in New York at Van Courtland Park in a few weeks. So that’s the race we are all looking forward to right now.

After the meet both the girls and boys teams when back to Keira’s for pizza, ping pong, and pick-up soccer. We all had a great time, and all enjoyed getting to spend time together. This weekend was a little bit less busy for me and I had a chance to get caught up with everything, and get ready for the week ahead. The season is already flying by and soon the bigger meets will be here. I hope everyone enjoyed the last week of warmth here in Maine, and get ready to run in the cold! Also, I hope everyone will continue to look forward to something each day, and stay positive!
