Meet Results

Waterville's Bethanie Brown came oh so close to taking down Abbey Leonardi's state all time mark of 4:51.57 when she finished 4th in the Loucks games on Staurday in NY clocking a personal best, and school record time of 4:51.84. Brown just a junior is making a name for herself everytime she hits the track, and if she continues at this torrid pace her name will be in the record books before long. It looks like she'll have a shot at records at the 800m-3200m this spring.

On the boys side Nick Danner of Waterville heaved the javelin out to a new personal best and school record distance of 190-2. The mark was not only good enough to win the event, but also break the Loucks games record of 188-8 which was set in 2009.

Other strong marks came from Devin Burgess (Waterville) who finished 9th in the pole vault with a 13-0 clearance, the mark equals his seasonal best and tied for the state leading jump this spring. In the shot put Nick Margitza had an off day by his standards throwing 47-8 1/4 but still finished 11th, he also finished 17th is the discus (129-8). Alex Jenson of Waterville finished 9th in the triple jump 36-9, the mark is a new state leading mark, Jenson had a great day hurdling as she placed 7th running a state leading tying mark of 15.25. Greely's Kirstin Sandreuter put together a strong 3200m, which saw her finish 8th running 10:55.11, the #2 time in Maine this spring.

Mt Ararat also had several athletes/relays competing in the meet.
