Orono sweeps PVC small school conference title

 

The Orono Red Riots women tallied an impressive 208 1/2 points as they rolled to the conference title. The rest of the league is probably dreading the next 3 years as the freshman class alone scored 70 points via first place individual finishes! Orono was led by fresham Diana Tyutyunnyk who won the 100m,200m, 400m  & LJ, as she scored the max 40 points, her efforts earned her the Outstanding Meet Performer. Orono also won the 4x100 & 4x800 relays. Freshman Lily Koffman won the 1600m & 3200m. while freshman Abby Weigang took the 300m hurdles. Kayla Marquis added a win in the high jump & pole vault. Analies Dyjak has the top throw in the javelin.

Carolyn Benner of John Bapst had a huge 35-5 1/4 leap in the triple jump as she led a 1-2-3 finish for the Crusaders.

On the Boys side Orono was paced by Miguel Caballero who took first in the 100, 400m, 200m & LJ, for his 4 wins he was named the meet most Outstanding Perfomer. Also crossing the line first was Tyler White in the 3200m (10:41.89). In the discus Zach Landean threw 114-8 to finish first, while pole vaulter David Frederick cleared 12-6 to best the field by over 4ft.

Donald Boyer led the runner-up Foxcroft with wins in the 110m hurdles, triple jump & high jump. Ben Plohr won the 300m hurdles in a fine 41.55. George Stevens senior River Plouffe Vogel won the 1600m & 800m.
