Salute to Seniors: Nicole Court-Menendez Lewiston HS

 

What was your most memorable race?

My most memorable race was at the River City Rivals meet this year when I broke 8min in the race walk for the first time.

 

Out of all of your high school accomplishments which stands out the most?

The accomplishment that stands out the most is earning a medal at Penn Relays and setting the Freshman State record in the race walk.


 

If you could do it all over again what would you change about your running career in high school?

 If I could do it over again I would try more events. I did the 300 Hurdles this year and I loved them. I really wish I had tried them earlier.
 

What were the most difficult obstacles you had to overcome?

The most difficult obstacles I had to overcome were getting used to new coaches, I had 3 coaches in 4 years, and dealing with a calf problem my junior year.

 

What will you miss the most?

I am going to miss the people on my team and all the people I have meet throughout my years doing track.

 

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

 My advice for younger athletes would be to try everything they can and to just go for it.


 

What advice have your coaches had with respect to your performance and overall life goals?

 My coaches have always encouraged me to accomplish everything I can and always give 110%.


 

What are your college plans?

 I am going to Dakota Wesleyan in South Dakota in the fall and majoring in Athletic Training. I will also be doing cross country and track and race walking.


 

Who would you like to say thank you to?
 

 I would like to say thank you to all of the coaches I have had throughout my career, my parents, and all of the people I have met and the friends I made that have encouraged me throughout my career and made it very memorable
