MRC Performance of the Week: Samantha Cox & Tyler White

Tyler White of Orono ran the type of race he has all year last week at the PVC Championship. White established himself with the contenders and then unleashed a fast last mile to secure his spot. White ended up running 16:22 for 3 miles to finish 2nd overall & the winner of the PVC small school race. His first place helped his team win the PVC small school title. This week Tyler will be looking to win the EM regional title for Class C, and lead his team to a EM regional title. It was a very close vote for the Performance of the Week as White edged Robby Hall & Silas Eastman for top honors.

Senior Samantha Cox of Bonny Eagle continued her great fall as she crushed a 18:42 for 5k last week on a fast course at Gorham. Cox who has been in the top 4 of almost every race this fall is  running her best as the post season approaches. Her team is the top ranked in Class A this fall and the favorites to win the WMR title this weekend. At the Festival of Champions earlier this season Cox finished 4th overall and 2nd amongst Class A runners. Sam received 17 of the 42 votes to earn the Performance of the Week.

Congratulations to both Sam & Tyler on being selected as the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week
