Top Freshman XC 2012

Gorham's Jesse Southard ran the fasest 5k out of the class of 2016, he was also the top freshman at the state championships where he placed 19th in the Class A meet running 17:22. His time from the state was 36th fastest time overall with the 3 meets combined.
Colin Glencross of Bangor had a strong freshman campaign that saw him win the freshman race at the Festival of Champions. Glencross was a few strides behind Southard at the Class A state meet as he finished 23rd in 17:26. His time was the 42nd fastest overall at the state meet
Colin Tardiff of Scarborough had an excellent year as well, his 17:22 was the 2nd fastest of the class of 2016. Tardiff was the 3rd freshman at the Class A state meet as he finished 27th. In the combined results he was 49th.
Cooper Holmes of Ellsworth was the runner-up at the Festival of Champions where he ran 17:25. Holmes wasn't able to close out his season like he would have liked to due to injury, but he helped his team win the Eastern Maine Regional title and 4th place in the Class B state meet
Falmouth's Josh SImensky & Sean soucy were a big part of the success of the Falmouth team this fall. Soucy placed 27th with SImensky in 28th as they duo were the 4th & 5th runners for the Class B team runner-ups, they were the 2nd and 3rd best freshman in the Class B meet.
Nick Harriman of Lisbon was the top freshman in Class C in 2012. Harriman had a great postseason as he placed 8th in the MVC, 9th in the Western Maine Regional, & 12th in the Class C state meet.
Justin Guerette of Cape Elizabeth was a major reason why the Capers won the Western Maine & State title in Class B. Guerette turned in on in the postseason as he was 20th in the WMC, 27th in the regional, & 26th in the Class B state meet where he was the top freshman.

Kent's Hill freshman Anne McKee has the fastest 5k time of the season for the class of 2016. McKee clocked 19:38 in winning the Festival of Champions freshman race. Whiel this was her only race against the rest of the state as competed in the MAISAD. Anne won the MAISAD state title and led her team to the state title in the process.
Tessa Cassidy of Brunswick not only had the best hair she excelled on the trails as well. Cassidy placed 9th in the Class A state meet, and was the top freshman in the combined. Her time of 19:40 was the 13th fastest in the state. Tessa was the KVAC Class A runner-up and Eastern Maine regional runner-up. She capped her year of with a 84th place finish at the New England Championship.
Casey Loring of South Portland stood out in the postseason. Loring placed 9th in the Western Maine Regional then went on to a 11th place finish in the Class A state meet. She was the 2nd fastest freshman at the state meet and had the 17th fastest time overall. At the New England Championship Casey was the 2nd Maine freshman in 77th place.
Katie LeBlanc of Thornton Academy really turned it on late in the year, Leblanc ran to a surprising runner-up finish in the Western Maine Regional meet, she followed that up with a 12th place finish at the Class A state meet, then capped it off with the top freshman performance at the NE Champio,ship meet with a 56th place finish. One thing is for sure she loves running at Twinbrook.
Vishva Nalamalapu of Falmouth finished the season on a strong note as she placed 9th in the WMC Championship, then had one of her best races of her season with a 6th at the WM Regional, she finished it off with a 17th in the Class B state meet. Her time of 20:35 was the 38th fastest overall.
