Record breaking day at USM Relays

The 11th edition of the USM Relays proved to be one of the best ever as 7 meet records fell on the girls side, while on the boys side 3 more records were broken. Headlining the day was Denzel Tomaszewski of Wells who broke the meet record & all-time Maine best for 55m with a 6.53. On the girls side Waterville girls set a new all-time Maine best on the Sprint Medley with a 4:20.18.

Relay Winners

Girls

Grace MacLean(Bangor) won the Penthalon with 3098 to dominate the field, big marks included a 8.50 in the hurdles and 5-5 in the high jump

South Portland girls 4x200 ran 1:53.96 to win by more than a second, the mark is the #3 time in the state

Thornton Academy girls ran under 11 in the 4x800 (10:56.20)

Scarborough took the 4x400 with a 4:31.65 clocking, #3 time in the state this winter

 

Boys

Travis Grant of Gorham won the boy Pentathlon with 2888 points. Grant's best effort was a 8.29 in the 55m hurdles

Scarborough lowered the state leading 4x200m relay to 1:35.18

Cheverus ran an impressive 3:35.05 in the 4x400m relay, the mark is also a state leader

Gorham took the sprint medley relay (3:55.05)

Scarborough rolled to the win in the DMR with the 18th ranked time in the country 10:59.09

 

Bonny Eagle took the girls distance medley 13:21.68, the mark was a new state leader
