Now is a time when current high school seniors are starting to plan out their college visits and schools may be interested in attending, so below is a good guide at the top times run most recently on each college cross country team within the state of Maine.
Bates College had the strongest squad a season ago as the Bobcats finished sixth in the New England Regional, and were selected for an at large bid for the Nationals. At Nationals Bates would finish 17th out of 32 teams. They graduated five of the top eight from a year ago.
Colby wasn't far off the Bobcats as they finished 7th in the New England Regional just four points back. They sent Sophia Gorman and Helen Chavey to Nationals as individuals, Gorman went on to finish with All-American honors.
Bowdoin rounded out the top three with a ninth place effort at the New England Regionals. The University of New England placed 18th at regionals.
