About Me

I was fortunate enough to have played four years of college football at Yale, under NCAA Hall of Fame Inductee and Miami of Ohio "Ring of Honor" member, Coach Carm Cozza. Much of what Carm taught me eluded me for some time (years, in specific instances), but the impact of his example filtered through - and continues to filter through - to me over the past 4+ decades. Winning is neither "everything" nor "the only thing", much as I hate to take exception to those famous words of Vince Lombardi. COMPETING, every time out, to the best of one's abilities on that given day IS "what it's all about."

I have always loved track and field, and my wife, Kathy, and I continue to celebrate the fact that our son is enjoying the opportunity to compete within a cross country and track & field community that consists of so many talented, admirable young men and women. May the lessons they learn now stay resident within them throughout their lives!
