Fast relay times at Scarborough High could go even lower

Fast relays were the theme last week as the Scarborough girls set an unofficial state record in the 800-meter sprint medley at the Scarborough Relays and the York boys ran a state-leading time in the 4x400 relay at a Western Maine Conference meet, breaking a 25-year-old school record. (via )

Nakanishi and Ajayi Lead Men’s Track & Field to 13th at Open New England Championship
The Jumbos' highest finish came from junior Brad Nakanishi (Scarborough, ME). He took third in the pole vault with his clearance of 16'0 3/4" (4.90m). That mark ties for 16th nationally and will likely be among the top 20 by season's end, meaning Nakanishi will qualify for the NCAA Championship.(via )
Masters Wins Big 12 1,500-Meter Title

MANHATTAN, Kan. - University of Oklahoma junior Riley Masters came from behind to win the men’s 1,500-meter run title with a time of three minutes, 43.48 seconds. Masters led with 800 meters to go and dropped off to third before coming from behind to close strong and capture his first Big 12 Conference title. Masters was one of three Sooners to score in the event as Patrick Casey was third (3:43.78) and Eric Harasyn was sixth (3:44.42). (via )
Huge Marks at Loucks
A pair of All-time Maine #2 performances highlighted Maine athletes at the Loucks game this weekend. Bethanie Brown clocked 4:51.84 in the 1600m, while her Waterville teammate Nick Danner broke the meet record with his 190-2 javelin heave.
Colby: Relay team fifth for women's track at Open NE meet

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. --- Colby College's 400-meter relay team of Brittney Bell, Brittany Reardon, Frances Onyilagha, and Annabelle Hicks finished fifth overall and were the top Division III team at the Open New England Women's Track and Field Championships at MIT on Saturday.(via )

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University of Southern Maine freshman Hannah Wiley (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) and senior Bethany Dumas (Augusta, Maine/Cony) earned All-New England honors this weekend competing at the NEIcAAA (New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association) New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend at M.I.T. Manning Breaks School Record in 800-Meter Run at NEIcAAA Championship

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Senior Ben Manning (Jericho, Vt./Mt. Mansfield Union) of the University of Southern Maine Huskies men's outdoor track and field team placed third in the 800-meter run to highlight the weekend of competition for the Huskies at the 2012 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEIcAAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Mass. Pless leads men’s track with 16 points at Open New Englands

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Bates junior David Pless finished second in both the shot put and the discus throw, propelling the Bobcat men’s track and field team on Saturday at the all-divisions Open New Englands at MIT. Bates scored 25 points, tying with Middlebury for 10th place among 38 scoring teams.(via )

The Gorham Rams and Scarborough Red Storm girls tied for the team title at Scarborough Relays. The meet saw the all-time state record for the 800m spront medley fall as well
