The Massabesic Mustangs enter the state meet as the favorite, and will be seeking the first state title in school history. The WM Regional champions held off as strong challenge from the Red Storm of Scarborough to win by 11 points. Massabesic's first runner to cross the line was 8th but had they had 5 in the top 18 showing off strong quality and depth. The biggest threat to Massabesic's first state title might be the Red Storm of Scarborough who placed 4 runners in the top 10, inclusing 2 in front of the Mustangs #1 runner. Scarborough will need their #5 runner to run much better than a 49th place finish from last week. EM A Regional champion Hampden Academy figures to be battling it for a top 5 finish along with WM 3rd place team Falmouth & EM runner-up Brunswick.
