Brewer's Austin Lufkin dominated the shot put again, as he won the event with a heave of 51-3 3/4. Lufkin is the favorite to win the Class A title now that South Portland star Daniel Guiliani is out for the season because of injury. Check out his winning throw
MDI's Ryan Bender had to battle Erick Seekins of Brewer in the 400m, as Bender took the win 51.24 to 51.26. Bender's mark moves him to Class B #1, and state #2, while Seekins time is Class A #2 and state #3.
Hampden Academy's Paul Casavant had a strong day as he won the Mile (4:28.23) & then came back to run Class A #1 in the 2 mile with a 9:49. Casavant's teammate Thomas Darby set a new state leading mark in the 55m with his 6.72 effort, he also won the 200m in (24.25).
