New Balance Indoor Nationals Live Updates - Tardy wins EE Mile sets record, Racewalkers earn 3 All-American Awards


Day 1

Emma Egan of Yarmouth HS cleared the first 2 heights on her first attempts, as the senior placed 6th overall at 5-5 1/4 to earn All-American status. Nyagoa Bayak of Westbrook also cleared 5-5 1/4 but had misses at each height, she finished 19th overall. Watch the 5-3 1/4 clearances



Scarborough's Griffin Madden got the action under way in the 60m hurdle trials for emerging elite. Madden had a strong run as he set a new personal best 8.30 to finish 2nd in heat 2. A 8.30 for 60m hurdles converts to around a 7.61 for 55m hurdles. Watch Race



In the emerging elite 2 mile Sophomore Luke Laverdiere & junior Paul Casavant had strong showings. Laverdiere running in section 1 ran a lifetime best 9:27.63 to place 10th. Laverdiere's previous season best was 9:40.60, he placed 21st overall. Luke's time also set a new sophomore Class record breaking Dan Curts 9:28.88 effort from 2012.  Watch Luke's Race  



The Class A State Champion Paul Casavant of Hampden Academy ran in section 2, Casavant was just off his personal best with a fine 9:24.09 good for 9th place in the section, and 12th overall. Watch Paul's Race



Orono's Tia Tardy tuned up for her mile & 800 later this weekend with an indoor personal best of 58.90. She placed 28th overall. The mark moves her up to 11th all-time in Maine history Watch Race




Deering semior Paolo DeMarco placed 5th in heat 7 of the emerging elite 200 dash with a time of 23.15. The mark is a personal best by .01, and ranks him #3 in Maine this indoor season. Watch Race




In the emerging elite shot put Class A State Champion Samantha Curran threw a best of 35-11 1/2, while Class A runner-up Daija Miselr of Hampden Academy threw 33-3 3.4  Watch Curran's throws

Peter Hegarty of Sanford placed 18th in the emerging elite pole vault clearing 13-9 1/2.

Anna Lastra of Fryeburg finished 23rd in the 5k running 19:50.29
