This weekend we went to Ocean State Invitational in Rhode Island. It’s a really fun race on an awesome course. We didn’t do as well as we hoped, but there were some really good races. Catherine came in 29th with an impressive 20:23. I came in 33rd with 20:29. Kelsey was next in 37th with 20:35, followed by Hannah in 46th with 20:47, Rachel in 50th with 20:50, Paige in 76th with 22:04, and then Caitlin in 79th with 22:17. In the JV race, Lindsay ran an awesome race and came in 7th with 22:21. Following her was Brittany in 15th with 23:04, which was also an incredible race. On the boys side, Matt had an amazing race and came in 7th with 16:22 (yay both of the Rands came in 7th!) Chris came in 42nd with 17:15 who also had a great race.

It was a pretty interesting/eventful weekend. On the way down (on Friday), the bus needed some repair and we were delayed a few hours. But it was kind of fun because we had good team bonding time, and when we got there we ran the course in the dark (which was actually pretty fun.). After that we picked up really good food from the Olive Garden and ate it in the hotel lobby. Then we went to our rooms to rest up for the race. I roomed with Paige, which was really fun, especially since we didn’t lock our keys in the room like last year.

When we got to the course we thought it would be a lot muddier than it was (it rained a lot.). But it was actually not that bad, and you could avoid it by running on the sides of the trail. It was also really cool because they played intense music and stuff. The race went ok, but a few girls on our team were sick (which is why Emily wasn’t there) and Hannah had a fever (and still PR’d yay!). When I was stretching on the starting line I strained my hamstring, which was really annoying and bad timing. But luckily I still ran and finished the race, which was good lol. Anyways, we ended up coming in 7th out of 12, so it definitely could’ve been worse. Plus, there were some pretty intense races and competition, which was good.

We don’t have a race this weekend, so it will be a good time for training and stuff. I think it’ll be good for our team and that we’ll all be ready for WMCs. Yay! And we also have homecoming this weekend, which should be really fun.
