10 College Freshman Men With The Talent To Impact NCAAs

Reed Brown after his 2016 Foot Locker Nationals victory.

Recent Southlake Carroll High (Texas) grad Reed Brown is looking to add to an already-loaded Oregon Ducks team. But this fall they took a big hit by losing Edward Cheserek. But much like King Ches, Reed Brown is also a Foot Locker National champion. Last fall, he took the win at Foot Locker Nationals, running 15:01.80 at the historic Balboa Park course. He ran that after finishing sixth at NXN just one week before helping his team place 11th. His times on the track are also impressive. He was the only boy in the class of 2017 to break four minutes in the mile, going U.S. No. 4 all-time 3:59.30 at the Festival of Miles. He also holds an 800m PR of 1:51.01, a 3200m PR of 8:50.43, and a track 5K PR of 14:37.51. He's ranked 10th on FloTrack's Flo50 preseason rankings countdown.
