Falmouth Boys & Waterville Girls repeat

    The meet was dominated by Waterville, as the lady Purple Panthers, raced, jumped and threw their way to a 4th straight outdoor title. On the day they won 8 individual events plus 2 relays, which is one of the most dominating performance ever seen in state meet history. Leading the way for Waterville was Lynn Fleming, who won the long jump and triple jump. In the triple she just missed the state record, leaping out to a new state leading 37-4, just 1 1/2 inches off the record. Also winning two individual events for Waterville was senior distance runner Kayla Tuttle. Tuttle won the 1600m 5:22.46 & the 3200m 11:55.31. The relays were key to Waterville's title push as well, the 4x100 team of Lynn Fleming, Alex Jenson, Lauren Massey, & Katie Massey blitzed the field with a new state leading 50.78 while the 4x400 team of Emily Karter, Alexa Frame, Olivia Thurston, & Taylor Frame clocked a 4:13.61. Other state champions for Waterville were Katy Massey in the 100m 12.72,  Courtney Williams in the 1600m racewalk 8:00.29. In the upset of the day, Olivia Thurston took the 300m hurdles, running close to 3 seconds faster than her seasonal best and knocking off defending champion Allison Fereshetian in the process, Thurston just a sophomore ran 45.53. Natasha Griffith took the shot put title, heaving it out to 38-6 3/4. 

     Individually Leavitt senior Allison Fereshetian was a standout. Fereshetian broke the state record in the 100m hurdles clocking a fast 14.72. Allison also won the 200m in a new state leading time of 25.75, she added a runner-up finishing in the 300m hurdles 45.79.
