Cheverus senior distance standout Emily Durgin has decided to continue her running career at the University of Connecticut as she has accepted a full scholarship. Durgin who is one of the finest high school distance runner ever to run in the state, had a great 4 career that saw her finish as the Class A state runner-up 3x in XC, as well as winning 2 New England XC titles, and never finishing lower than 3rd. Emily was also a 2009 Footlocker National finalist. On the track Durgin has o won an outdoor state title at 3200m.
Emily also considered Providence, South Carolina, NC State & Wake Forest in her college search. Durgin plans to major in nutriution & minor in exercise science. Emily said of her choice "Uconn was a much better fit and i love the coach she is amazing!"
