Records could fall

Grace MacLean (Bangor) the senior is one of the top athlete in the entire state, and her indoor season this winter certainly backs up that statement. MacLean has broken EMITL records in the 55m hurdles (8.54), high jump (5-6) & tied the long jump (17-5) this year already. Grace is the state leader in both the 55m hurdles & high jump, and her 17-5 long jump leads Class A. A year ago she won the hurdles & high jump an added a runner-up in the long jump for 28 points. Any time she steps on the track a record is in danger, what performances will she turn in for her final EMITL indoor championship?

Teal Jackson (Brewer) last year Jackson scored 30 individual points after winning the 55m, 200m & 400m. She'll be running in the same events this year. So far in 2013 she has broken the 400m league record with a blistering 57.85, which not only broke the EMITL record but the state all-time best. Currently Jackson is the Class A leader in the 55m, 200m while having the top 400m time in the state. At this meet last year she set the 200m record of 25.87. Teal is a real threat to set a record any time the gun goes off, what will she have in store for the competition on Monday?

Aleta Looker (Ellsworth) the standout junior has dominated the Mile & 800m action in the EMITL this winter. Last week Looker added her name to the record books with a dazzling 2:17.31 for 800m, the time is also the fastest in the state this winter. Aleta will have a full plate on Monday as she is entered in the Mile, 800m, & 2 Mile but she proved last year she is more than capable of winning them all.

David Frederick (Orono) Frederick put his name into the record books last week with his personal best, state leading, school record breaking 14-1 clearance. David is the defedning champion, looking to add another indoor title to his resume. If he's on again how much higher can he jump?'
