The top college track and field runners in New England are at BU this weekend competing in the Open New England (NEICAAA) Championship. This competition features D1, D2, D3 athletes al competing against eachother. Check out how the Maine teams are doing as well as former Maine HS runners.
Bates
Former Greely HS star James Lepage broke the 83 year old College record in the 800m in the trials as he clocked 1:51.59. The senior is currently ranked #3 in the country in the event for D3. Read more on Bates

Day 2
BOSTON — The No. 7 nationally ranked Bates men’s track and field team scored points in the shot put, hepthathlon and 800 meters on Saturday to finish ninth among 32 point-scoring teams at the all-divisions Open New England Championships, and first among Division III teams.
Bates scored 30.5 points at the meet, trailing only seven Division I teams and one Division II squad. Bowdoin was next among DIII competition, in 14th place with 16 points.
Senior six-time All-American David Pless (Atlanta, Ga.) captured his first all-divisions New England title in the shot put with a top effort of 58-10, out-throwing a field of 24 competitors, only six of whom were from Division III schools. Bates had half of the DIII athletes in the event, as sophomore Sean Enos (Lynnfield, Mass.) placed fifth overall, second in DIII, at 54-11.25, while first-year Nick Margitza (Waterville, Maine) placed 14th at 47-6.25.
Bates senior Elizabeth “Bud” Arens broke the team record in the 800 meters on Friday at the all-divisions Open New England Indoor Championships at Boston University.

Sophomore Kevin Desmond (Monmouth, Maine/Monmouth Academy) established a new school record in the 800 meters to highlight the University of Southern Maine men's indoor track and field performance Friday in the first day of competition at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEIcAAA) New England Championships. The championships are being held at the Track and Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University.
Day 2
BOSTON – Paced by the school record performance in the triple jump by sophomore Jamie Ruginski (Buxton, Maine/Bonny Eagle), the University of Southern Maine men's indoor track and field team finished in a tie for 16th place among the 32 scoring teams at the 45th Annual New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEIcAAA) Indoor Track and Field Championships held this weekend at the Track and Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University.
Ruginski and University of Rhode Island senior Ronald Woodley staged a battle in the triple jump as each had a best mark of 14.90 meters (48-10 ¾). Woodley won the event based upon having the better second jump (14.86-14.66). Ruginski broke his own school record of 14.75 meters (48-4 ¾) set last weekend at the New England Division III Championships.

BOSTON – The University of Southern Maine 4 x 400-meter relay established a new school record for the third straight week on Saturday competing at the 45th Annual NEIcAAA (New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association) Championships held at the Track and Tennis Center on the campus of Boston University.
The foursome of sophomores Emily Panciera (Monson, Maine/Foxcroft Academy), Anna Whitaker (Cumberland, Maine/Greely) and Peyton Dostie (Standish, Maine/Bonny Eagle), along with freshman Nicole Kirk (Scarborough, Maine), turned in a time of three-minutes, 54.05 seconds to break their previous mark of 3:58.92 set last weekend at the New England Division III Championships.

BOSTON, Mass. - Bowdoin distance runners Sam Seekins and Coby Horowitz both broke school records to lead the Bowdoin track and field teams at the Open New England Championships at Boston University this weekend.
