Ben True to run 5k in Adidias Diamond League Meet in NYC

2013 has been a special year for Saucony sponsored athlete Ben True. True has been special so far this year with the US road 15k title in March, followed by his international breakthough in the tough conditions in the World XC Championship, where he was the top American in 6th place. With his focus shifted to the track, True won the Payton Jordan Invitational 5k in a personal best 13:14.44, the time was good enough for a World Championship "A" standard in the event.

This weekend Ben will be 1 of 2 Americans competing in the 5k at tge Adidas Grand Prix Diamond league meet being held at Icahn Stadium in New York CityTrue will be looking to run fast in a competitive race, and is aiming for another personal best at the distance. Despite having the "A" standard in the 5k, Ben said today he will focus on the 10k at the upcoming US National meet, as he attempts to make the US team for the World Championship meet later this summer.

Milesplit's Todd Grasley caught up with Ben this afternoon, check out what Ben had to say about his breakthrough in 2013, and how his confidence continues to grow.
