Cony senior Lindsey Folsom broke the Class A pole vault record, jumping 11-7. It was Folsom's 3rd Class A outdoor title. Watch her record-breaking vault

Ellsworth junior Dan Curts and Gray New Gloucester's Will Shafer had an epic duel in the Class B 1600m, Curts would win the race in a Class B state meer record of 4:14.02, while Shafer finished 2nd, he also was faster than the meet record. photo©kevinmorris.com

 

Brewer's Teal Jackson won 4 individual events in the Class A state meet, a feat that has only been accomplished one other time in recent memory (Jesse LaBreck-Messalonskee). Jackson won the 100m, 200m, 400m & long jump. In the 400m, she ran 57.0 to establish a new Maine all-time best and Class A state meert record. Watch the video of the record breaking performance.

 

Waterville senior Bethanie Brown won all three distance events in the Class B state meet, she added a state meet record in the 800m, 2:16.50. NYA'S Jake Burns won the Class C Boys 300m hurdles title as he clocked a personal best 40.15

 

Andrew Toothaker of Hampden Academy was the victor in the Class A 300m hurdles race, Toothaker a senior ran a state leading 39.79

 

Wells senior Denzel Tomaszewski repeated as the 100m champion, running 11.01, which just missed the Class B state meet record of 11.0. Tomaszewski added an individual win in the 200m, and lead off the victorious 4x100m relay. photo©kevinmorris.com

In the longest race of the day had one of the closest results on the day. Freshman Anne McKee of Kents Hill & Sophomore Lake Kerrigan of Seacoast had an epic duel in the 3200m. Kerrigan would come from behind to edge McKee 11:52.33 to 11:52.35! Earlier in the meet McKee won the 1660m with Kerrigan second. The one athlete everyone was talking about at the Class A state meet was Lewiston sophomore Isaiah Harris who ran a 1:54 plit in the 4x800m relay to lead his team to a runner-up finish, he did that one better in the open 800m as he broke the Class A state meet record clocking a 4 second personal best with a 1:54.17.
