Ben True of Saucony ran in the Monaco Diamond League 5k on Friday. True was coming off a personal best of 13:11.59 for the distance the week before in Heusden, and was aiming to run in the 13:05 range. The pace started fast the first mile with True covering the first 4 laps in 4:08. He settled instead of going with a move early on and didn't feel he pushed to level he needed too during the race. Ben would finish 8th running 13:13.98, he was the 2nd American in race behind Galen Rupp (13:05.17-6th place). The winner of the race Edwin Soi of Kenya ran a world leading 12:51.34.
