Beach to Beacon 10k
Veazie, Maine native and current Brooks sponsored athlete Riley Masters stepped up in race distance this morning at the Beach to Beacon 10k. Masters covered the 6.2 layout in 30:18 to earn top honors for Maine. He finished 11th overall in the race, one spot in back of Ryan Hall. Masters didn't take over the top spot until after mile 4, as Brunswick native and current Dartmouth College star WIll Geoghegan led the way. Geoghegan would go on to finish 2nd overall for Mainers with his 30:33. Jon Wilson from Falmouth was 3rd with a 30:48. Rob Gomez was next in 31:22, with Henry Sterling rounding out the top 5 in 31:25.
On the women's side it was Scarborough resident Erica Jesseman taking top honors with a 34:17.6 to finish 23 seconds in front Sheri Piers (34:40), who was the 2nd Maine women to cross the finish line. Uconn sophomore Emily Durgin was the 3rd finisher 36:13, with HS phenom Kirstin Sandreuter 4th in an impressive 36:18. In 5th place was Carly Dion of Biddeford with a 36:31.
On the HS side, Ben Decker of Yarmouth was the first boy across the line running an impressive 32:41. Thornton Academy's Ryan Cadorette was around 34:40 for the 2nd HS finisher, while Cape's Liam Simpson ran 34:54 for 3rd best HS finisher. Scarborough's Jacob Terry was 4th HS finisher across in 35:25. Rounding out the top 5 was Jack Lettelier of Marshwood who ran 35:55.

Greely's Kirsten Sandreuter of Greely was the top Maine HS female, finishing 4th overall amongst all Maine woman, The soon to be senior at Greely HS ripped the 6.2 mile course at 5:50 pace, good for a 36:18, which placed her 117th overall in the race. Another impressive fact about the performance was only 6 Maine HS boys ran faster. Shannon Conley of South Portland was the next HS finisher with a sub 40 clocking of 39:59. She showed she's fully recovered from the foor injury that cost her all of the indoor and part outdoor season last year.Hampden Academy junior Elizabeth LaBun was 3rd across the line with a fine 42:46.5. Laura Broderick of Kennebunk was next across in 42:56, good for a 6:55 pace per mile. Bonny Eagle's Kristen Glennie was 5th with her 44:22 clocking
