York senior Heather Evans has had a strong fall that includes four wins and a runner-up finish in 5 races. This past week at Kennebunk Evans set the early pace and was never challenged as she cruised through the 3 lap course at Kennebunk. Evans finishing time of 18:57 for 2.9 miles was 34 seconds in front of the runner-up. Heather will be one of the favorites the win the WMC individual title. There were 88 votes cast this week with Evans receiving 43 of those.
For the second time this season, Mt Blue junior Aaron WIllingham has been selected for the Maine Running Company Performance of the Week. WIllingham clocked a new course record at the Mt Blue Relays on the 2.03 mile course with his 10:32. It's been a record breaking season for Aaron already as he broke the Mt Blue school record for 5k at the festival of champions (15:42). With the championship meets coming up Willingham will be one to watch as he chases postseason glory.
