2013-14 Indoor Track Event Previews: 800m
Class A
Bangor senior Jonathan Stanhope is the top returner this winter, a year ago he clocked a best of 2:01.32 placing 4th in the state meet. Scarborough's Alex Karam was 4th in the outdoor state meet running 1:59.99. Jon Gray of Gorham & Colin Grove of Cheverus are two top half-milers as well looking for a state title this winter. Grove was 5th in both state meets a year ago. Watch for Brunswick's Chris Tanner as well he was 6th in the outdoor meet.

Class B
Dan Curts is the fastest returner in 2014 as he was the only Class B returner who ran under 2 a year ago. Wes Crawford of Yarmouth is the top state meet returner, he was 3rd last winter, followed up by a 4th outdoors. Outdoor champion Will Shafer will be running indoor for the first time, and will be one of the favorites. Harrison Stivers of Freeport is one to keep an eye on, he has great 400m speed and the endurance to run the 800.
