Dartmouth Relays Day 1

Jacob Terry of Scarborough wins the unseeded 2 mile with a 9:56.21, Jonathan Stanhope of Bangor wins the unseeded mile 4:37.83, Maggie Seitz of Falmouth takes unseeded triple jump, 32-4.

Maine had a successful first day at the Dartmouth Relays as Jacob Terry of Scarborough won the unseeded 2 mile with a 9:56.21 & Jonathan Stanhope of Bangor won the unseeded mile 4:37.83. Stanhope of Bangor ran a patience race as he pulled away for the win over the final 400m. He currently ranks #1 in Class A, and #3 in the state. Terry of Scarborough was well positioned througout the race going through the mile in 5:00, with 4 laps to go he took the lead and pulled away for the win over the final 400m. With his sub 10 effort, he becomes the third runner to break the barrier this indoor season, his time ranks him #3 in Class A & the state.

In the triple jump, Falmouth's Maggie Seitz won the triple jump with a 32-4 effort, which currently ranks her 5th in Class A.  She also added athird place in the long jump with a 15-1 leap. Waterville's Troy Gurski was the runner-up in the long jump with a leap of 19-4 1/4. Elizabeth Perry of Ellsworth placed third in the girls unseeded shot put with a personal best 32-4, the mark moves her to Class B #3.
