Dartmouth Relays Day 2

Day 2 of the Dartmouth Relays saw several Maine athletes place in the top 6 in their respective events. Aleta Looker of Ellsworth was the highest placing Mainer as the senior was the runner-up in the 800m with a state leading 2:16.15. Kellie Bolduc of Waterville set a state leading mark of 36-0 in the triple jump to place 3rd, her teammate Sarah Shoulta ran 9.01 in the 55m hurdles to finish 4th. Yarmouth's Ben Decker was 4th in the 2 mile while Gray New Gloucester's Will Shafer was 5th in the mile with a state leading mark of 4:21.94. Austin Weigle of Kennebunk was 4th in the high jump with a 6-0 clearance. Jordhan Levine of Waterville was third in the triple jump, 43-0 3/4
Scarborough's Alex Karam ran a state leading 2:02.03 in the 800m. Other state leading marks came from Rachel Bergeron of Waterville in the shot put, 35-0 1/2, along with Kirstin Sandreuter's 11:31.75 in the 2 mile which was good for 6th
Boys seeded Mile
In his first indoor race of his career Will Shafer ran a smart race that allowed him to challenge for a top spot over the last 400m. Shafer worked his way up from last at 600m, all the way to 3rd at one point. The 4:21.94 is easily the fastest time in the state this winter.

Boys seeded 2 Mile
Maine was well represented in the seeded 2 mile. Ben Decker of Yarmouth opened his season with a strong 9:54.07 finish which was good for 4th place, the time is a Class B state leader. Scarborough sophomore Colin Tardiff got as high as 4th with 2 laps to go but ran out steam in the home stretch, he still nabbed a personal best 9:55.81. Waterville's Chris Cote had a strong run to finish 9th, his time was 10:00.98

Girls 55m Hurdle final
Waterville's duo of Sarah Shoulta & Kelli Bolduc qualified for the finals. Shoulta ran a seasonal best 9.01 to finish 4th, her mark is a Class B state leader. Bolduc was 8th in the final but she ran Class B #2 9.18 in the semifinals.

Scarborough's Alex Karam ran a state leading 2:02.03 in the 800m to place 9th, his teammate Colin Jones ran state #2 2:02.39. Bangor's Jake Archer ran 2:06.04, good for state #7, while fellow Ram teammate Ben Salinas ran state #8, 2:06.12

Waterville's Kellie Bolduc improved her state lead in the triple jump to 36-0 with a 3rd place effort. Thornton Academy's Alexandra Pettaway jumped 32-11 1/2 good for 6th place.
