Dan Curts to compete in 2 mile at Brooks PR meet

The Ellsworth senior will compete against some of the best 2 milers in the country at the Brooks PR invitational meet in Seattle in his final competition of the 2014 outdoor season on Saturday. Dan is coming off a fanstastic Class B state meet that saw him run the second fastst 1600m in state history, 4:09.88, he also won the 800m & 3200m. Curts didn't compete at last week's New Balance Nationals or New England championship meet due to his high school graduation.

The field at Brooks PR is stacked including Footlocker National XC champion & Adidas Dream Mile winner Grant Fisher. Curts has the fourth fastest time this year in the field (8:51.24 -3200m) from his winning effort from the Loucks Games earlier this year. While Curts 3200m is far superior to the Maine all-time best for 2 miles, this will be his chance to add that record to his resume, the record is 9:02.72 held by former South Portland HS star Eric Giddings.
