Over 1,000 coaches were nominated and our very own Maine coach Nick Scott of Boothbay was selected as one of the 25 finalists. Voting ends on July 31st and users are allowed to vote once per day.

Coach Nick Scott “has single-handedly transformed a small cross country running program into a large, consistently competitive, award winning program, created a new Nordic ski program and stimulated a major increase in interest in the school's outdoor track program,” wrote a current athlete. In fact, nearly 25 percent of the student population participates in the track program. Additionally, many nominators mentioned Coach Scott’s passion for teaching and his ability to inspire both inside the classroom and on the track. “He's more than a coach, he's an icon of commitment and passion and is someone everyone can look up to,” wrote another athlete. Even through a recent family illness, the coach was present to support his athletes and his transparency helped build compassion and inspiration amongst his teams. Coach Scott “shows so much dedication and passion into helping us reach our highest potential that it makes me feel honored to have been under his coaching influence,” closed another athlete, attributing his success to Coach Scott.
