Katherine Leggat-Barr of Greely has been the surprise of the season. In her first xc season she has run undefeated against Maine runners, and is the favorite to win the Class B State title on Saturday. Leggat-Barr who played soccer as a freshman, won the WM B Regional title last week in commanding fashion as she was the only girl to break 20 minutes with her 19:46 effort. No one else in the region was within 20 seconds of the sophomore. Most impressively she has run 6 5k races this fall and all of them have been under 20 minutes including a personal best of 18:51 that should be challenged this weekend
