Follow the top overall distance runner in the State of Maine, Bonny Eagle junior Kialeigh Marston as she embarks on her second season of cross-country. Marston was the Class A State Champion last fall in her first xc season, she returns as the heavy favorite to repeat.

Hi Guys!

Sorry this is so late last few weeks have been crazy with finals coming up, model state, and other various things.

Well to wrap up as we all know my season was not as good as I expected it to be. I had some goals going into the season like being injury free, dropping my PR, New England’s, running the chocolate milk mile, but none of which got accomplished.

The lesson I learned from this is to not take your position in running for granted; there are always going to be different factors in each season. And please, please don’t run injured. I definitely learned this lesson the hard way, take time off it will be better in the long run. *pun intended*

To move on to more interesting matters; Cross Country is over for majority of us, to my knowledge there is the footlocker regionals coming up for a select few but other then that the season is done.

I will definitely miss xc simply because I find it more interesting to run in the woods rather than the track but also because of the environment at cross country meets. XC people are always so friendly. It was kinda fun to watch states rather than run it for once. Don’t get me wrong I love racing but to see the race unfold as an observer was kind of interesting. People really stepped up their game which was really awesome to see.

Today marks the start of indoor and for me this is very welcoming, I wasn’t supposed to run for the last couple weeks and it has been killing me. I’m so excited to finally have a run to put into my log rather than just cross training. So pumped to run the shorter events again, miss the mile sooo much.

Hopefully see you all in indoor!! Good Luck, Kialeigh
