Waterville girls 3 peat, York Boys best in Class B
The Waterville girls made it nine titles in a row as the Panthers tallied 118 1/4 to easily outdistance runner-up York by 31.5
The Panthers were once again paced by senior Sarah Shoulta who won the 100m hurdles & 300m hurdles, plus placed second in the pole vault. Junior Lauren Brown added a title in the 3200m while Alison Linscott took the high jump state title with a 5-2 clearance. Kellie Bolduc added 10 more points with her 36-1 winning performance
Kate Hall of Lake Region added three more individual state titles to her resume as she captured the 100m, 200m & long jump. Hall set new state meet records in the 100m with her 11.69 winning effort, while she leaped 20-4 3/4 breaking her own record by an impressive 1' 4 3/4".
Greely's Alyssa Coyne was a double winner taking the shot put (37-6 3/4) & discus (127-10).
The York Wildcats held off a strong challenge from Belfast as they won the state title with 96 points. Senior Tucker Corbett won the 400m (50.23) and was the runner-up in the 200m 22.61. He also ran a leg on the winning 4x800 & runner-up 4x400m relays. Jack Bouchard broke the state meet and his own all-time state best with a 200-6 distance to win the javelin for the second time. Colt Santoro clocked a huge personal best of 15.34 to win the 110m hurdles by .01.
Old Town's Nicolas Boutin swept the sprint events as he clocked 11.22 to win the 100m, and won the 200m by just .01 with a new personal best 22.60.
Waterville's Chris Cote won the 1600m (4:32.87) & 3200m (9:51.31). The Panthers also got a pair of wins from Trever Grey who took the shot put (53-5 1/4) & discus (151-1)
Fryeburg's Victor Yang won the high jump with a 6-6 clearance, and added a second win in the triple jump with a winning distance of 42-8 1/4.
