Orono girls continue to be perfect
For the third meet in a row the #1 ranked Orono girls score 15 points

In what is becoming a regular occurrence the Orono girls scored 15 points for their third perfect meet in a row, this time winning the Lynx Invitational.
Running on a new course the #1 ranked Red Riots ran as a pack for most of the race, in the transfer Tia Tardy picked up here third win in a row, and her third course record in a row as she stopped the clock at 20:12.51
As in previous meets Tardy was followed closely to the line by teammates Hannah Steelman (20:15.27) & Kassidy Dill (20:17.56), these three make up the best trio in the state so far in 2015. Rounding out the sweep for Orono was senior Olivia Fandel (20:52.08) & freshman Camille Kohtala (20:58.76)
The most impressive stat may be the 46 second split for Orono's 1-5 runners as they averaged 20:31 for 3 miles. Caribou placed second overall with 52 points, they were led by 6th place finish of Julia Page (21:18.46).

Boys top 10 finishers
On the boys side in stark contrast to the girls meet as Orono & Caribou battled it out throughout the meet. In the end it was the Red Riots using a 2-3-4-6 finish to edge the Vikings 28-33 in the team scoring.
Caribou senior Chathu Karunasiri broke away from the Orono duo of Tristan Butterfield & Matt Keresey to claim the individual win with a 17:08.25 effort. Butterfield & Keresey were separated by just a blink of the eye (17:18.13 to 17:18.52).
Orono's William O'Neil was 4th (17:40.38) while Caribous #2 runner Evan Desmond rounded out the top 5 in 17:49.29.
