This season so far has been very good. I feel that I have been meeting my goals and the team is doing very well. I was very happy to come in first as a team at this last week's home meet, where we almost had a perfect score. We ran in a pack vice as individuals. Also, I am really looking forward to running in the festival this year both for myself as well as my team.
For the most part, the training that I have been doing is mostly been adding volume with a little more speed. Now as mid season approaches it is time to start doing a lot more speed work. For example, a good speed workout for midweek would probably be something like 1000 's at threshold pace. But for right now mileage has been the key. So overall I am very happy with the progression of the season so far and I can't wait till states.
