Rusak joins 15ft Club
Scarborough junior Sam Rusak set a new personal best with his 15 foot clearance at the SMAA Last Chance meet at USM last evening.
Rusak entered the evening with a best of 14-3 on the season, which he vaulted last weekend, that mark put him at the top of Class A, and state #2 behind Belfast's Drew Nealey who cleared 14-9 last weekend.
14-9 happens to be the mark Sam accomplished a year ago as a sophomore, and before this evening was his personal best indoors or outdoors. With the 15ft clearance he moves back into 3rd place all-time in Maine indoor history, and joins brothers David & Mike Slovesnki as the only athletes from Maine to clear 15ft in the pole vault indoors. David Slovesnki holds the Maine all-time best at 16-6 1/2.
