Orono junior Jake Koffman entered the New England Championship as the top seed, and Koffman lived up to his pre-meet billing as he took the top spot with a throw of 174-10. Koffman had three throws on the afternoon that were further than the runner-up. On his final throw of the preliminaries Jake toss the discus out to 165-3. Koffman had the advantage of being the final thrower of each round in the final, he tossed it out to 171-6 on his 5th attempt, and saved his best for last as he bombed it out to 174-10.



Maine was well represented on the podium in the discus as junior Matt Brady of Biddeford moved from 5th to 3rd on his 5th attempt with a new personal best of 156-6. Brewer junior Austin Lufkin finished fourth with a toss of 155-8.




In the shot put Austin Lufkin of Brewer avenged his below par day at the Class A state meet a week ago as he won the New England title with a personal best 58-5 1/4 throw. Lufkin took the lead in round 1 with a throw of 54-7 1/4, he would be passed in round 2 despite improving to 55-0 1/4. Lufkin would seize the lead for good in the third round with a 56-6 1/4 effort. He would improve to 56-9 in round before unleashing his best throw in round 6.

Biddeford's Matt Brady threw a best of 55-4 1/4 on his second round throw, good enough for a third place finish. Brady was 1 of 3 Maine athletes to score in more than one event.

Windham's Thomas Sappier just missed the podium with a 7th place finish, his best effort was 51-7, while Trey Wood of Brewer was 8th with a toss of 51-4.

Sticking with the throwing theme, the girls did very well earning 3 All-New England honors across the three events.

Class A State discus champion Adelaide Cooke of Falmouth was the runner-up with a 117-4 effort in the six round, that moved her from third to second. Hampden Academy's Daija Misler was 9th throwing a best of 112-4. 

In the shot put Samantha Curran of Thornton Academy earned All-New England honors with her 6th place effort. Curran who was the Class A runner-up a week ago in the event had a best of 37-1 in round 3. Cooke of Falmouth was 8th overall throwing a best of 36-1. While Class C State champion Mavis Taungatu'a of Bucksport placed 10th throwing 35-8.

Edward Little's Britanee Nouchanthavong the Class A state champion battled the tough conditions to throw a best of 125-8 in the third round, the throw would hold up to place her 4th overall. Morgan Dauk of George Stevens placed 10th throwing 118-0.



Emily Turner of Cheverus the Maine All-Time record holder at 400m ran 57.53 to place 5th overall to earn All-New England honors. Kiana Letourneau of Lawrence nabbed a top 10 finish as she ran 59.15 in section 3.



In the high jump All-American Emma Egan of Yarmouth cleared 5-3 to placed 4th overall to earn All-New England honors.

While in the pole vault Class C State Champion Allie Pickering of Orono cleared 10-3 to earn a tie for 5th overall earning her All-New England honors for the first time. Edward Little's Lauren Berube placed 9th after clearing 9-9.



In the 800m Juliana Selser the Class A State Champion from South Portland ran a lifetime best 2:15.79 to win section 1, that effort was good for 10th overall. That mark moves Selser to 7th fastest in state history.

Orono's Lauren Stoops finished just of the podium by .01 as she finished 7th overall in the 300m hurdles with a time of 45.86 as she won section 3.

In the triple jump Lewiston's Adela Kalilwa earned All-New England honors with a jump of 37-1 1/2 on her second attempt. Old Town sophomore Oliviah Damboise just missed the podium with a 7th place finish, her best jump was 35-1.

Kalilwa of Lewiston also placed 8th in the long jump with a best of 17-3.



In the boys 200m & 400m Class C champion Michaiah Robinson of Washington Academy placed 6th in the 400m to earn All-New England honors, his time was a seasonal best and Maine #2 time of 50.03. Robinson was also the top Maine finisher at 200m running a 22.61 to place 9th.

In the 800m Messalonskee junior Owen Concaugh ran a state leading 1:54.85 to place 10th overall after finishing 3rd in section 2. For Concaugh that was a personal best by 3 plus seconds. Tristan Butterfield of Orono ran ME #2 1:55.72, while Andrew Sholl of Scarborough ran ME #3 1:56.47.

Sophomore Luke Laverdiere of Yarmouth was the top Maine finisher in the 1600m as he placed 9th overall after finishing 3rd in section 2.

Raymond Weymouth of Erskine Academy cleared 13-3 in the pole vault to place 7th. While Pete Hegarty (Sanford), Aaron Thomas (Falmouth) & Travis Snyder (TA) finished in a tie for 10th clearing the opening height 12-6.

In the long jump Nate Pratt-Holt of Mt Blue finished 9th overall with a leap of 21-2 1/2. While over at triple jump, freshman Cayden Spencer-Thompson of Mattanawcook placed 10th jumping 42-5 3/4.

Messalonskee set a state leading 4x800m as the Class A champion ran 7:55.55 to place 9th overall.



Deering ran a state leading 3:28.51 for 4x400m to close out the meet as Paolo DeMarco anchored them to the win in section, they placed 14th overall.
