Tell us how your summer training is going?

My summer training is going well. I have been running the most I have ever run this summer. I had a pretty good year last year and hope to continue to get better as the season goes on. Throughout the summer I have been communicating with my coach to get the most out of my workouts.

What are your goals for the upcoming season?

This upcoming season I hope to break the school record and lead my team to win the conference championships.

How long have you been running and how did you get started?

I will be entering my third year of running. I played soccer my freshman year and ran a few local road races with Coach Van Tassel (the cross country coach). He asked me about running with the team the next year and I decided to try it out.

Will you be competing anywhere out of state this season?

I will not be competing anywhere out of state this season.

What is your favorite course to run in Maine?

I would have to say my favorite course to run in Maine is Twin Brook because it is a beautiful spot and I enjoy the challenge of the hills throughout the course.

What is the toughest course to run in Maine?

The toughest course to run in Maine, in my experience, is our home course at Winthrop. There is a spot in the middle of the course where there are three large hills, one after the other, and the winning times often reflect that.

What meet during the regular season do you put extra emphasize on to compete well at?

During the regular season, the team and I focus on the Festival of Champions race held in Belfast. It is the largest race we compete in during the season.

What is your favorite cross country race so far in your high school career?

My favorite race so far in my career is the state meet my sophomore year. I was seeded in the high 20s for that race and ended up placing 11th breaking my PR by over 35 seconds.

When you are not running what is your favorite thing to do?

When I am not running my favorite thing to do is to play basketball.

Favorite quote?

My favorite quote: "Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to become the best of which you are capable"

- John Wooden UCLA Men's Basketball coach

What shoes do you race/train in?

The shoes that I race/train in are New Balance XC 5000.

What was your favorite Olympic Moment in Rio?

My favorite moment in Rio would have to be Ashton Eaton winning the men's decathlon. Go USA!

What professional athlete would you most like to meet?

The professional athlete I would most like to meet, because I am a basketball guy, would be Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.

What is something that most people don't know about you?

Something that most people don't know about me is that I have been playing piano since I was 4
