Dill & Hassett tops in Class C NM Regional, Orono boys & George Stevens Academy girls take team titles

George Stevens Academy senior John Hassett cruised to the Northern Maine Class C Regional XC title as he covered the 5k layout at Belfast in 16:19.55 to win by 35 seconds.
Deer-Isle Stonington junior Brendan Penfold sprinted by Ollie Dillon of Orono in the final meters to earn runner-up honors, his time was 16:54.89 while Dillon clocked in at 16:55.61.
Houlton senior Isaiah Brown finished fourth with his 17:01.38 effort with Matt Keresey of Orono rounding out the top 5 at 17:11.36
Orono dominated the team race as the red Riots placed their top 6 runners between 5th-12th to score 26 points. Behind Keresey, Lowell Ruck finish 6th, then came Jonathan Steelman in 7th with Jonathan Spencer next in 8th. William O'Neil rounded out the scoring for them in 11th, with William O'Neil adding great depth in 12th.
