Biddeford XC/Track Coach Will Fulford passes away unexpectedly at 29


Biddeford High School XC/Track & Field coach Will Fulford passed away unexpectedly on Sunday from an apparent cardiac arrest while running on a treadmill.

Fulford was working out with his wife Ashley Potvin-Fulford at the University of New England when the tragedy occurred. His wife is the Biddeford girls ice hockey coach as well as the women's rugby coach at the University of New England. The pair were married this past July. 




Will began coaching the Tigers cross-country program in 2011, and had it moving in the right direction. Fulford guided the Biddeford girls cross-country team to the post season appearance for the first time in 22 years this fall. The Tigers went on to finish 6th at the Class A State Championship.

Fulford was also the Head Girls Outdoor Track & Field coach at Biddeford the last 3 years. He is also listed an the assistant cross-country at the University of New England.



Will was a graduate of Kennebunk High School & the University of Southern Maine. He had a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature. He most recently worked at Biddeford High School as an educational technician in the special education department.

He competed in xc & track field at Kennebunk & USM.
